Chaos erupt in Kisii town after AP shoot two women dead

Kisii town was a no go zone on Thursday, October 6 after a shooting incident in which two women were felled by bullets.

The women were shot dead by Administration Police officers following a slight argument between the officers and the women, the Standard reports.
The Thursday evening incident caused chaos in Kisii town with locals demonstrating to express their anger following the macabre shooting.
The officer shot at the women as they tried to intervene when an accident happened  between two motorcyclists.

The AP happened on the accident and moved in to try and intervene.
The women then attempted to plead with the officers to forgive the riders for the accident.
That was when a slight argument arose leading the officers to open fire resulting into the two women being shot badly.

One woman died on the spot while the second one died while being treated at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

So bad was the riot that by 7 pm, the body of the first slain woman was still at the scene of the incident hours after she was shot at around 5.54 pm.
The killing of the two women comes days after a report was published in local dailies detailing that police have killed more people this year than criminals have.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaiserry and Police Spokesman Charles Owino have defended the police from such blame accusing the media of a smear campaign.
